The good old days ?
In my neck of the woods, the varmints being roasted with sweet taters were raccoons. During my days runnin trap lines, we had a fellow in the neighborhood that loved to get them to eat. That was how we disposed of them when we caught one in a trap. Personally I liked armadillo over coon. Cooked them on a BBQ pit over mesquite coals. I don't know if these were the "good ole days", but they were good day in my memory.
