My First Notable One Was Not Accidental ... It Was Negligent
1966... Ft. Bliss, Texas. Basic Training. We had been training all day with blanks and when we were assembled the Drill Sgt. said, "Unload your weapons!" I pointed my M14 straight up and pulled the trigger.
Suddenly the universe got extremely quiet and EVERY EYE was focused on me!
Worst was the look on the Drill Sgt's face. He enjoyed torturing young recruits and now he had a new slave! It took me a while to work that incident off. I remember waxed floors and a single razor blade.
Hard to believe that was 56 years ago.
