Yep, I was there. Sure doesn't seem like 16 years have passed since that weekend.

Was 2006 the first year for the CSA shoot in Clarksville?

Murphy

I *think* it was 2005

by Hoot @, Diversityville, Liberal-sota, Monday, August 08, 2022, 22:17 (626 days ago) @ Murphy

but it may have been 2004. My first year was 2005 in Clarksville but I have a niggling thought it happened a year before I got there. Not sure...

CSA 2005 we shot down the tree.

by Murphy @, Monday, August 08, 2022, 23:26 (626 days ago) @ JimT

After a little digging around in old files, I found a few photos. Under properties on the photo, it showed the date as 2005.

Now for the funny part. It was later in the week I was recalling the weekend and all the great folks I'd met. Then something dawned on me. There were three engineers present at that moment, Blue, BJ and Hoot. Why didn't one of them (engineers is smart people, right?) notice the major fail that was about to take place? I had to laugh.

Murphy

HAHAHA!! Let's just say...

by Hoot @, Diversityville, Liberal-sota, Tuesday, August 09, 2022, 07:48 (626 days ago) @ Murphy

The in unnamed person who started this misadventure was a PPP (Jim Taylor), and the lady with The .41 was his wife who is also unnamed, (Twyla Taylor) who has had much experience cleaning up behind him.

"had much experience cleaning up behind him" .. true dat!

Proud to say it was MY 41 Mag that Ms Twyla used to finish the tree and knock it down :-D It was getting close to being finished as I was standing next to her when she made the comment "I want in on the fun" to which I handed her my revolver and said join in, she aimed, took one shot and down came the tree, the power of the mighty 41 Mag ;-)

Gunner

ps
side note to the tree story, a certain PPP stated early in the shooting of said tree that it would fall down range and not toward the shooting line as Ms Twyla suggested. She was a smart lady and a good friend, miss being around her.
