Marvelous News Sir!!

I will continue to pray for him and the family. As a parent I can say I have no idea how I would have handled all this. My oldest boy nearly didn't make it out of the hospital after he was born, but once he was OK there was no residual fear to concern ourselves about. Even then I about wore the knees out of my pants talking to God. I am sure Brian is handling all this with a bit more grace than I would have done. No less fear though. Prayers continue, but with a lighter heart today. Wonderful news. God is great.

Thank you Rob...

Dashiell is recuperating from his surgery - 2/3 of his liver was taken. Surgeons tell us of the amazing regenerative powers of the liver - should be completely regrown within a month or so, "depending".

He is comfortable and resting, which is uncanny considering the size of what was removed, and that so many of his internal workings had to realign and restart.

His case is unusually rare, based on his response to the chemo program - possibly a score of people, worldwide, have been in the same boat over the last decade. Not a group in which we want to be members! Owing to the lack of data, we are considering moving his "salvage" chemo program to another institution, one with top credentials in successful, aggressive programs. We are considering Harvard, Cincinnati, and Texas Children's at Baylor.

The duration and intervals of treatment are yet unknown, as are specifics of living arrangements, but it is clear to us from direct consultation with top MDs that expertise in this type of program requires us to step up his care.

We are happy to have a brief respite, but have a long way to go and face many unknowns and challenging decisions, the earliest of which is required within days.

Thank you all for keeping Dashiell in your thoughts and prayers. I am astonished by the strength and courage he has been loaned by all of you!
