Driving home yesterday.....
....in the early evening. Going from our rental to home, I passed a HUGE buck in someone's front yard. Spectacular rack, with some vines or weeds entangled in his tines. He was munching dry grass and looking frisky.
Most of the homes in that area are one to six acres, and not too far south is the beginning of expansive wheat fields. I figure he came down out of the Blues to the east.
Got feverish enough to try driving whilst looking out the rear window at him!

Oh, forgot to mention it is muzzle loading season.....
Sounds like a good time for a drive by!!!!
The same thing happens to me I live in a village that has a lot of whitetails wandering around. Seen some really nice bucks over the years. They are really a problem. Tearing up everyone's gardens, landscaping, accidents etc.

Biggest rack I have ever seen was on an old boy casually standing in a suburban front yard with his sweet young thing, just watching the cars go by. I thought they were concrete yard deer until I noticed that he was still in velvet. Massive rack with more points than I could count in a brief glance going past at about 35 mph. This was in metro Nashville, on Bell Road out by Percy Priest Lake, and way too much traffic to stop for a better look.
He was an old, grizzled buck and not real big, but his rack was almost comically large for the rest of him. Looked like he had robbed a furniture store and was carryin' off a rocking chair on his head.
