AR and Cold Weather
I just got back into AR 15 format after a many year absence.. I was also watching Yukon Men the other night and have been amazed the Rifle worked in that cold of an enviroment. Strap it on your chest and ride 60 miles on a snow machine at 30 miles per hour.
You experienced guys, Have any idea how they get super reliability up North?
All my guns were oily, all the time. They were dirty too,
but good ole break Free CLP and Miltec do wonders to keep a gun rolling along even shooting dirty Russian Ammo.

AR and Cold Weather
The only confirmed cold weather weakness demonstrated by the Stoner/M16/M4/AR style rifles is in the piston guns (SIG and HK).
The Scandinavian's report that piston will freeze up solid if the guns are brought inside from the cold and then taken back outside. The condensation freezed and locks up the piston and the rifle will not function until it is thawed out.
This does not happen in their DI rifles.
When run wet with lube a good AR with good mags will function with a very high level of reliablity....hot/cold/clean/dirty...
Junk/parts guns not so much...
