"Any 'bear-hunter' who thinks he knows
Speakin'of bears, I dropped by the Tennessee Museum of Aviation in Sevierville day before yesterday. The museum is on Dolly Parton Parkway just about a mile north of the center of Sevierville. It is a quite densely settled commercial/residential area, with a patch of woods about 2-3 acres in size between the runway and the highway.
As I was leaving, one of the staff members was sweeping leaves off the parking area. He told me to look to the right as I was going down the driveway and see their "teddy bear collection". Sure 'nuff, a sow and three cubs were scarfing acorns under two big oaks beside the driveway.
We spent two days four-wheeling around in the backcountry, and the only bears we saw were almost in downtown Sevierville. Go figure.
