red dot or Holo sight for GP100 suggestions
I shoot in a 22 pistol falling plate match every Saturday and if you don't have some kind of optical sight, you are not in the running for anything but last place. We have tried all kinds of sights and this is what I have learned.
1. Low end holo sights won't cut it, they have parallax problems and don't hold their zero well.
2. Go to the high end Eotec holo sights and you have a good sight, but they are in the $400 to $500 range.
3. Low end Red Dot sights do better than low end holo sights, although they can give problems also, just not at the frequency as the low end holo sights.
4. I have been using a Burris Speed Dot sight for three years with excellent results. It has never had to be re-sighted in the entire time. It comes off and back on the pistols in Weaver style mounts and returned to zero. All I have had to do is change batteries every now and then. Cost is about $200.00
