Pilot clearly saw lack of power...had plenty of places to set down...

That is not exactly the plane I would chose for such endeavors.
I am wondering if he didn't blow a jug or something. On the original video I thought I heard a pitch change, in the second video I am almost sure of it, and his AOA appears to increase slightly with the noise change right before he heads down. I am on my IPad so the Speakers are not that great and I could be all wrong.
I have had to bounce one once or twice to finally get airborne it is not a good feeling. An am sure he was to heavy for the DA, but I think there might be more to it.

I'll swear in the 1st camera slow motion near the end you can see the camera show a Kindle or an some type of big IPOD type thingy in the pilots hand.
Nice warm day for them though.
