Long time dream realized, Colt SAA

I have wanted a real Colt SAA for many many years and finally got one! Won it at auction a few weeks back and was finally able to pick it up last night. Took ammo and targets to the gun shop with me and planned on hitting the range right after. Of course winter storm moved in while I was doing paperwork and the short trip to the range was about double the normal time and the trip home was over triple normal travel time! Don’t care; totally worth it!

3rd gen made in 1978 and by the looks of the cylinder face and bolt notches, I don’t think it had been fired since it left Hartford. Well, I fixed that! Considering conditions, it shoot pretty well but after a couple of paper targets, I just banged away at steel for fun! Elevation is about dead on for my standard load of 6.0 of Red Dot and a 454424 cast. It’s a hair to the left, but we’ll shoot it a good bit before monkeying with that. Came home and wilped the snow off of it and got some indoor beauty pics.
