Unique in the .44 Special and .45 Colt
I used it for many years in my 44 special (and some 44 magnum)loads with no complaint. It left a few flakes of powder and a greasy soot behind on the 44 special loads, but was accurate and worked well. When Hodgdon came out with Universal Clays I tried it and got the same ballistic results, but without the powder flakes and greasy soot left behind. So, I switched. I still have some Unique, but as long as Universal Clays is around I will go with it. There are others in this burning rate that I will try when the chance comes. I have no bone to pick with Unique though, it's a great powder. Unique!
