Unique in the .44 Special and .45 Colt

all the oldtimers used to say that with a 250 or 260 gr. bullet in the those calibers, when using Unique figure 100 fps per grain of powder. It usually worked out really close to that.

A lot of my friends that reload often talk about "dirty" powders .. Unique being one mentioned .. but I never noticed it. Others mentioned the smell of Unique or other powders, which is another thing I never noticed.

My only concerns and what I noticed when shooting ... Is it a safe load? Is it accurate? Will it do the job I need it to do?

All my years of shooting black powder in percussion revolvers and having to clean up that mess makes me see Unique in a modern revolver as super clean and not sooty at all with no worry about corrosion being another plus.

I am in agreement with you Bob! (nm)
