Want to read a good Western?
Try "Apacheria" by William Altamari.
Not bad at all, in fact pretty darn good. Has all the prerequisite characters, both good and bad. Very straight forward plot, as most Westerns seem to be, but enjoyable and holds your interest.

I recently finished "Empire of the Summer Moon" Absolutely one of the best narratives of the ascendency and defeat of the Comanche Nation and Quanna Parker. Great stuff.
I picked up a biography of James Butler Hickok by one Jospeh Rosa this afternoon. I had it told to me in Deadwood a couple of weeks ago that Hickok was a Mason. I look forward to seeing if anything in this book covers that. I did find it interesting that a headstone with the Square and Compasses (configured as for the 2ND) was within view of Wild Bill's grave, and the two lanes leading to Hickok's grave were named Boaz and Jachin respectively.

Which Rosa Hickok book? He's written 3 or 4 of 'em.

I did not know that. This one is "They Called Him Wold Bill, The Life and Adventured of James Butler Hickok".
