High-speed light-bullet loads for .30-30
Hi all.
I was putting up some .30-30 rounds yesterday using the old standard 170-grain JFP, when it occurred to me that according to my Lee manual, one could push a 110-grainer out of a .30-30 at over 2600 fps.
110 grains at 2600? Seems to me that would change the nature of the old levergun entirely... would make it into a coyote zapper as long as the range wasn't too long.
Has anyone here played with this idea?

Ele era velho.
Ele era corajoso.
Ele era feio.
I loaded some 110's at book velocity but...
never did anything other than shoot paper or cans. I have to admit being surprised at the recoil though. Not bad at all but it seemed out of proportion to the bullet weight. Might need to revisit.....
