Why do I do this to myself? (.35/.30-30 wildcat)
In a world where .35 Remington rifles are readily available on the new and the used markets, I have somehow managed to cultivate a craving for a rifle chambered in the .35/30-30 wildcat, simply the .30-30 case necked up to take a .358 bullet.
Not only does such a choice most likely require that I have a suitable lever-action rebarreled, it also would ensure that I could never ever buy factory ammo and that all cartridges shot through it would be my very own handloads, not to mention that it would likely be just a touch less potent than the Remington round due to case capacity.
Oh, but don't think this makes me not want a .35 Remington. I still want one of those too.
[sigh]
