Shot some targets today with the Shootists Levergun

by JimT, Texas, Friday, May 16, 2025, 20:14 (1 day, 21 hours, 3 min. ago)

I did not sight it in. At 30 yards it was hitting 8" low. I used a spotter to get the shots closer to center. We will take some time next week maybe and get it sighted in.

I ran loads with the #454190 round nose bullet, the #454424 Keith SWC, and the SSK270 gr. FP

This was typical of how low it is shooting right now

Loos like a good bit of shooting.

Shot the targets using my Portable Machine Rest

just to see where it was hitting and accuracy potential. Did a lot of shooting offhand.

I have a similar machine rest, but it doesn't have the fancy cords keeping it tight! Actually since I started shooting the Sharps a lot more, I use a set of shooting sticks for most everything.

Good shootin', is the barrel on these a little thicker than normal? I looked at Hoot's during the hog hunt, seems thicker.

I am not sure. Something I will need to check I guess.
