DST's for AaronB
Your post got me to thinking so I had to take some pictures of what I've got here.
'98 Mauser in 8x57
Zastava M-85 (Mini-Mauser) in .22-250
Rusty 54 caliber front-stuffer (need to clean that up...sheesh)
Dutch M-95 Mannlicher in 6.5x53R
Sauer & Sohn Tell V in 9.3x57R/360
Hungarian M-95 currently in a Franken-22 but soon to be in 8x56R
1916 Newton in 6.5-06
1925 Newton in .270 with the odd 'backwards DST'
Nice! I also like DSTs...
Do I spy two or three pop-up tang sights?
The Germans liked those also.
And here I thought I was getting a collection...
...I see my habit of appreciating weird and obscure rifles just don't quite hold a candle to some of y'all.
And those DSTs kinda give me the DTs, if you know what I mean.

Yep. The '98 and the '95 Hungarian which...
I hope to get into your hands soon.
I'm a real sucker for them...
as well as weird and oddball.
And here I thought I was getting a collection...
Bobby T. had this one for sale but I waffled too long and it had sold when I went back after it. I saved all of his pics to torture myself. Not really DSTs, but there are two triggers...
German double in 43 Mauser made by Scherping.
Check out the folding tang sight. There was a folding front night sight with likely an ivory bead. Looks like customs removed it with an axe, thus saving the whales or something. Yeah, that elephant has been dead for at least 150yrs.
Will be good to visit and deliver some other stuff. nt
.
Amen.
Missed seeing you at CSA.
Whoa!!
That was a nice rifle.
And here I thought I was getting a collection...
Local shop owner has a SxS .43 Mauser. I got to play with it years ago when I loaded him up some ammo for it. I don’t recall much, but i do remember it had double, single set triggers. It was pretty nice! I have tried to buy it from him a time or two in more recent years but he’s not letting go of it.
That sounds pretty cool.
