especially if they have never faced someone with a gun ... "Is the gun I am carrying big enough to get the job done?"

I am no expert in this field, but what personal experience I have had, I never considered the caliber of the gun the other guy was carrying. All I focused on was that he had a gun!

If you ever have to pull it (and I pray you don't ever have to) all that other person is going to be thinking is HE'S GOT A GUN! And if you have not warned the other person that you are armed, when it comes out and makes a loud noise the other person will be thinking "Oh ---- I've been shot." (add whatever four-letter word fits the situation)

The gun carries easily for you. Shoot it until it becomes an extension of your arm. Practice putting the bullet where you want it at 20 feet distance.

And yes ... there are many exceptions to what I have stated above. You cannot anticipate anything except your own reactions and proficiency. Enjoy the .32.

and other back issues caused me to not daily carry my usual LWC last year. Couldn't stand the weight or a tight belt. An unrelated issue presented itself; ruptured a disc in my neck that caused the loss of most of the use of my left arm. Luckily, that was surgically repaired, but I was left with a weakened left arm due to muscle atrophy... and still had the constant sciatica.

During a follow up visit to my neurosurgeon monitoring strength progression in my arm we had a conversation about my annoying sciatica. He told me to sit on the edge of a chair with my legs stretched out in front of me, heels on the floor, knees locked. Then said "try to touch your toes with your fingertips'. One side I could, and the other - the one that hurt - I could not.

He said to keep trying this every day, so I did. Progress was rapid and within about ten days I could touch my toes with my knees locked. The sciatica relented and I have started carrying my LWC in a much used SR holster every day again.

I encourage you to try it and see if it works for you.

They work.

With suspenders I could carry a 1911 with ease. I was carrying a Browning Hi-Power with comfort as well before I sold it. Used to carry a Glock 19 with two extra magazines, again no problem.

These days it is either a 3” Model 10 or a Glock 48, and still always with suspenders. If I want to forgo the suspenders, then I pocket carry a Smith 642 or a Glock 42, anything bigger is just too much weight and bulk for my pockets. I typically wear Duluth jeans, which have large, deep pockets, but even with those I don’t think I could draw a SIG 365 with ease.

The Glock 48 has been a revelation, thin, light, and 10 rounds. A 365 is a great package, obviously a little smaller, but I can get a full grip on the 48and it has a decent sight radius. A little big gun if you will.

Of course all the above is apples and oranges, what works for me is for….me. Your mileage may vary……

I wear Wrangler Riggs Workwear pants. They are very comfortable with room to move, but the best thing is they have a large cargo pocket on each side that is just below the normal pocket. I can easily carry and draw something like a Sig 365, Walther ppk, smith 642 (or any 2" j frame). The cargo pockets are large and easily accessed and still have a snap secured closure flap. I usually carry a Kahr CM9 9mm, mainly because it is compact and extremely light at 14 ounces, and I carry an extra mag in my back pocket. I always use a pocket holster, with my normal one being a Desantis Super-fly. With this setup anytime I'm wearing my pants, I'm armed. I don't have to think about it, just always armed.. No muss, no fuss, and easy to draw, yet perfectly secure...

I realize I'm usually the odd man out, but anymore I regularly carry using a shoulder holster. As long as it's balanced on both sides, I can still carry my Lightweight Commander and not aggravate my sciatica or the arthritis in my lower back. A lightweight fishing shirt and a moisture wicking T-shirt under it allow me to wear it even when it's warm outside.

is a cheap 12-gauge pump shotgun like a Maverick riot gun ($239) in the truck in close proximity to the front seat and plenty of 00 Buck and slugs handy just in case my 637 Smith is not scary enough. The shotgun gives you warm and fuzzy feelings.

I am contemplating going back to my pig farmer roots and getting some overalls to wear.

I am looking at suspenders, but first and foremost, weight loss. I learn a hard lesson every year, and that is that every year makes everything hurt more, and makes it more difficult to slim down. Thank you all for the encouragement and suggestions, means a lot.
