45 colt is one of my favorites for sure. I do shoot a lot of handloads in 45 S&W brass too, since most of my shooting is just fun plinking, might as well use less powder and lead! Since you have a 44 lever gun, you could relegate all of your 45 handloads to SAA levels and still enjoy shooting the 45 lever gun. I have a ‘sporting model’ Uberti 1873 with the checkered wood and 24” octagon barrel. Obviously it is fed lighter loads and does wonderfully well. I’d like to get another 1892 some day because they are light and slick little carbines.
