I used to spreche de spanglish tolerably well but it takes constant practice which I am about 30 years behind on. Way too many tenses to get it right even half of the time.

Way back when, there were spanish speaking religious programs that aired on saturday's telly that the captioning was in english. That extended my conversational abilities for a while but it is long gone. I still watch euronews and deutscheworld en espanol almost every morning and can kind of follow but being able to converse has long passed.
