I was sorta bored - the bad weather kept me from the range.

I had all the firewood cut and split and stacked and covered up. Most all my empty brass was now loaded. I had several hundred pounds of bullets cast. So one day I got out my Ruger Bearcat Shopkeeper and started modifying it. There were several things that bothered me about it.

The first was the sharp edges on the ejector rod. The barrel is so short that the cylinder pin needs to be removed through the ejector rod handle. The edges on it were sharp and using it just a few times got painful to your finger. So I cleaned off the sharp edges.

The other thing is the New Model Trigger sets further forward in the trigger guard than the Old Model. This makes room in the trigger guard smaller. To better get my fat finger into the trigger guard I scalloped out the forward end of the trigger guard.

I know there are friends who could do a better job than I did, but it occupied me for a couple days. Weather here now is in the 70's for the next week or so and I will have plenty to do.

I know the changes are not a lot but they did help me both with occupying time and making the little pistol easier for me. Now I just need to clean up the areas where I boo-booed the finish.

That one looks like a dandy little pocket popper!

Best part is not having to reblue, one very positive thing about stainless guns. :-)

I've shot 4 racoons with it.

Handy to carry when I feed the chickens or am hauling firewood.
