That JimT is a bad influence.

Now I'm looking at videos on how to mount a red dot on a Mosin-Nagant carbine.
Not that that was Jim's idea exactly, but his minute-of-whitetail Mosin truck gun set me to cogitatin'.

One way is how I mounted a light on my shotgun.

I was at my daughters and they had a raccoon problem, so I mounted a light on my shotgun and set up waiting for the coons ..

Anything that sticks the flashlight on is a good solution.
Putting a red dot on may require a little more rigidity... so I was thinking of augmenting the tape with some JB Weld.
-AaronB (only MOSTLY kidding)
Or Gorilla Glue. I have used that on gun parts. (nt)

You laugh but I have seen red dot sights taped onto receivers as well as super glued. But I think the best one was the guy that duct taped two extra shotgun rounds to the side of the stock for a quick reload
Not just taped but taped around each round then together then taped to the stock! He was very upset with me because I couldn't stop laughing.

You don't use ductape on a red dot sight... it's not nearly stable enough.
That's what a hose clamp is for!
Oh that's completely valid.
