.44 Mag Carbine loads for Lyman 429421
Will they feed? In magnum brass they are too long to feed from the magazine of both my Marlin 1894 and Browning 92. The only levergun that I know will feed Keith bullets in magnum brass is the 94 Winchester, although the early 336 44 magnums probably would too,
I have had better results with 2400 and H4227 and plain base bullets than H110. With jacketed 240gr I have got over 1800 FPS using H110 in a carbine.
With something like WW alloy I would think you would top out around 1400-1500 if you want minimal leading and best accuracy. I have been shooting a 245gr RNFP in magnum brass with 6.5gr of Red Dot in my leverguns lately. They are going about 1100 FPS.
Something like Unique or HS6 would get you in that 1400 FPS range out of a carbine, with much less blast.
