It is a great day. When I was a kid every house had a cast iron flag holder on the porch, and every house would fly the flag on this day, Memorial Day and so on. You don't see that anymore in towns. Quite the shame. We also called today "The Forth of July", and often just "The Forth". We all knew what it meant, and those terms of endearment, spoken by the grateful children of our nation, were never taken as disrespectful.

That PC crap can cut both ways:-D

Reminds me of Goldie Hawn when she was on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. Goldie said," I think we should move Christmas to July. That way the stores won't be so crowded."
