That's the Lyman Keith SWC (452423) over 8.0 grains of Blue Dot.
Normally I like Unique for this application, but I have a goodly amount of Blue Dot on hand just now. I'm pretty sure the M25 will like it just fine.

Now that is right purty! (nm)

I might take a notion to hunt deer with this load. Shots are short in our local deer woods, and I imagine the Lyman Keith would do well.
-AaronB
I am sure it would. Shooting through deer ain't that hard.

Through the lungs is about like shooting through a couple loaves of bread .. especially if you don't hit bone.

Indeed! That's very purposeful looking.

That's a round I've long wanted to play with. Way back in the 20th Century I stopped over in FL to accompany a couple of young ladies back to college. While waiting for one of them to finish the last couple days of work I hung out with a friend of theirs, who happened to have an old 1917 Smith and Wesson. We had fun shooting back in the 'glades of Florida, mostly using ACP ammo in half moon clips. But once I heard of the Auto Rim round it made all kinds of sense. Especially how you've got it loaded with a proper sixgun bullet!
Stop putting thoughts in my head!

I have a .45 Colt Uberti Sheriffs Model P with a 3” barrel, no ejector rod. It’s my alternative to toting a Charter Arms Bulldog, and I’m right happy with it.
Because it was a relatively straight forward project, as opposed to my usual penchant for convoluted ideas, I picked up a .45 ACP cylinder for it. Now you’ve awoken perilous thoughts about what it would take to allow said cylinder to also gobble .45 AR rounds.
That is certainly a fine looking cartridge!

You'll want to roll crimp.

I found that I could never get my .45 ACP (or Auto Rim) loads to chamber easily in my M25 until I had run them through a .45 Auto Rim roll crimp die. I would expect a .45 Schofield roll crimp die would also give you a good result, but I can't attest to that from personal knowledge.
The taper crimped cases always seem to want to hang up in the chamber for me, even when I apply the taper crimp pretty hard.

Thoughts? Me...?!?

I would really appreciate this load in an N-frame open carry gun, say a Model 625 configured like a Mountain Gun.
Think of it as a .44 Special with a glandular disorder.

Don't know if somebody's fixing things behind the scenes but I can usually see them in the next day or so.

Hoot, I was looking at what I can see of the uploads and nothing shows up. You might try doing an edit and try to upload again.
Edited so we'll see.

Funny thing, I originally couldn't see Aaron's picture of his AR round. Then I could. Now I can't again. Jim Taylor's images are also not showing for me....odd behavior.
My behavior is odd at times. Sorry. Ingrained habits. (nt)
