Getting Ready For Winter
It was 54 here in Texas this morning. I felt like working on the woodpile. I have a bunch of Oak and Pecan that needs cut and split. Some was already cut so I started the splitter and spent some time getting the trailer load split.

That beats the old maul and wedges all hollow!

Paul, I agree. Fortunately, I have Grandsons.
Getting Ready For Winter
Drain and secure the hoses. Change the furnace filter.
Pull the dead and dying vegetables from the raised beds.
Move the livestock closer to the house ( not yet, but soon!)
Pull out and test the heat lamps and water heaters.
Mauls and wedges
Sadly, splitting firewood chunks and stacking them is about all the exercise I get. It's not bad for that, though.

Our splitter was down due to the hydraulic pump seizing up
and I split quite a bit of wood with 12 pound sledge hammer and wedges. While it gets done I would much rather use the splitter.
I split wood by hand since I was about 13 and after 50 years of that it gets kinda old.
