Milt Morrison said today that John Taffin is doing better each time he sees him. His appetite has returned and he is getting around much better. He requested Milt to bring over lunch from Jalapeño’s. He wanted two cheese enchiladas beans and rice so he’s doing better and hopefully will be at lunch next month for scheduled lunch together.

He thanks everyone for their prayers and calls

I spoke with Paco this afternoon. He had a fall recently while taking the garbage out. He slipped and fell and the garbage can landed on him. He ended up with a cracked pelvis. He is doing OK .. getting around with a walker. It may be 6 weeks or more before it is healed.

Keep him in your thoughts and prayers please.

Thanks for letting us know. After reading the article in the American Rifleman, I was in a bit of contemplative mood today, reflecting on the blessing of getting to know JT, Paco, yourself and many others. This getting old ain't for sissies. Sure am looking forward to the Great Reunion one day when we won't be plagued by earthly sorrows. In the meantime, it's an honor to pray for my dear brothers.

Prayers for Paco and JT

Thanks Jim.

Tough stuff at that age. My dad broke his...

Did broke hip at work one night. Out on workers comp at 90 years old. I know there must have been people in an office somewhere really confused by the dates, assuming there was a mistake. I know at the hospital there was. The doctors questioned his date of birth on his charts and questioned the results of his pre surgery testing. Surgery went well.

But afterwards. He was in a rehab place for a month and a half, maybe two? I swear he aged 10 years in those two months. :-(
Not many 91 year olds want to go back to work, but he does. But he knows he can't. And he's become everything he was afraid of becoming overnight. Physically, mentally aging like someone sped up the clock after slowing it down for so long.

Sorry to hear that ... and hate to see it happen ... BUT

Although, I will admit to smiling when I read the bit about a '90 year old claiming workman's comp'. God bless him.
