FIRING THE THUNDER MUG ON THE 4th OF JULY

by JimT, Texas, Friday, July 05, 2024, 14:41 (141 days ago)

We shot the Thunder Mug last night. Loaded with a mixture of FFFg and Pyrodex R ... maybe a 600 grain charge. I wadded it tight with coarse steel wool, hammered in place. Shook the ground nicely when it went off. The steel wool ignited and lit up the yard!

Video Captures of the shot.

It will blow a nice smoke ring about 25 feet in the air ... shake the ground a little ...

to know that without Miles Fortis around to set your property on fire, you are trying hard to do it yourself.

One of my customers invited me to his father's place around Northview. His dad has a bronze Lyle line throwing cannon he uses as a noisemaker for festive occasions. I visited Mom in her O'Fallon MO care facility the 4th-7th, so could not make the party, but I hope to eventually.
