Friend o' mine
has had a little ratty 5 shot .32RF suicide special revolver in a shadow box as long as I've known him. Red Jacket No. 3, typical sheath trigger solid frame nickeled little job.
Turns out it was made by the Lee Arms Co of Wilkes-Barre PA. Which was run by James P Lee who went on to immense fame as the designer of the Lee-Enfield. So a right interesting little bit of history.
Marlin made suicide specials before they made rifles. And they made 1 double action revolver after they started making rifles.
In my best Arte Johnson voice...
Veeerrry interesting!
Everyone has to start somewhere
I have heard of the Red Jacket pocket guns, had no idea Mr Lee was involved at all! As Hoot said, Very interesting!
