I wanted to see the numbers of the 9mm compared to the .45 ACP

A CIRCLE .356" diameter has an area of 0.099529 square inches

A CIRCLE .452" diameter has an area of 0.160466 square inches

The area of .452" is 46.875% larger than .356" .. not quite 50% larger.
