Spring has sprung here in the Andes
Yes, we're in South America. However, we're between the Canal and the Equator - so technically we're still in winter. BUT the trees and shrubs and other flowering plants don't know that. Yesterday I snapped this shot to share with Lucy, our foster daughter. She's up in Ottawa and in the sixth month of a difficult pregnancy. I figured she could use the cheering up and since she likes frogs I caught this one right next to the flowers.
Lately I've been experimenting with an old Vivitar Close Focus lens I picked up last year. It's for a Konica AR mount, but I use it with a Fotodiox adapter on my Canon camera. Here's a couple of pics I caught with it on Sunday. Stingless bees doing their bit to pollinate the flora.
This last one I call "Lift off!" as I managed to catch the little bee as she took off with her load of pollen.
So if you're getting the blahs - springtime is coming!
