USE THEM FOR PRE-WEIGHED POWDER CHARGES FOR YOUR PERCUSSION GUNS!

I am using Triple 7 for the 1851 Navy .36

The charges will be weighed, put in the 30-30 cases and capped with a rubber eraser.

Ready for the Range.

The 30-30 case will hold 40 gr. of FFFg. If you are shooting a Dragoon or a Walker and need a larger charge you can use 308 or 30-06 cases.

I used this method when I was hunting with a percussion pistol years ago. My Dad was the one who showed me. He used this method for his 1858 Remingtons.

The matchlock crowd, say about the time of Oliver Cromwell killing his king, used single charge wooden containers for their powder. Commonly suspended by cords from a crossbelt.

One term used for them in English was an Apostle, or really I guess in this context, apostle, all in lower case. No idea why it was called that, and the folks who could tell me are long dead.

Your setup reminds of that arrangement, exactly.
