3 weeks ago, today
Dad fell down and busted his hip.
2 weeks ago, today
The hospital kicked him out and off we went to a nursing home for 'skilled nursing' and a lot of what turned out to be very good physical therapy.
Today the physical therapist, and, most importantly these days, the insurance company, says he's well enough to go home, and to be honest, he is able to do well past what we both had decided was the minimums he had to be able to make it.
So, sometime Monday, we pack him up in a 'non emergency medical transport' and bring him home.
AK and I spent last weekend installing grab bars in a walk in shower and the upstairs wheelchair has arrived and I'll be putting it together tomorrow.
If you haven't figured it out by now; Prayer Works, and thanks to all by the way, because the staff has been constantly amazed at his progress. Many of them saying they've never seen a 98 year old improve as fast as Dad has.
He's not close to status quo ante by any means - that'll take lots more time - but our only major hurdle yet to make is him, with assistance of course, being able to get in and out of the Tahoe.

Esse sine metu in facie inimici tui. Sit fortis et rectus quod Deus ut amo te. Veritatem dico semper etiam si eam ducit ad mortem tuam. Tuendam inops et facere no mali.
Wonderful news!
Congratulations to your Dad and prayers for continued recovery.
It is indeed.
Sadly a broken hip often means the end for many people MUCH younger than him. Keep him active, keep him moving.
It is indeed.
I've been of slight help to The Miles Man for part of 2 Sundays, but he's had stuff to do everyday for 3 weeks.
I fractured my big toe Thursday. Thought I'd just jammed it, since there was no bruising, but X rays don't lie, it's fractured. So I was perhaps of less use today than before.
He has a by-Ned chore ahead of him.
Thanks for the update!
That's great news indeed. Prayers for continued recovery.
