I drove 10 hours yesterday ....
stopped for the night at Clayton, NM. Had a short 80 mile drive this morning to Raton. I checked into the Whittington Center around 11 AM. First guy I met was Glen Fryxell. Next guy I met was Phil Shoemaker. There will be a bunch pulling in this afternoon and evening.

Texas is over 2.5 times bigger than NM!
I checked the distances ...
Beaumont to El Paso ... 909 miles
El Paso to San Diego ... 792 miles
It's further from Beaumont to El Paso than from El Paso to San Diego.

I live 90 miles North, and I don't go to El Paso very often. Las Cruces is the big city we frequent.
