Just one of those things that you never think about...

During a conversation over beverages recently, friends from different backgrounds in both military and law enforcement began to discuss the murders in Idaho and the different forensic processes available to the investigators much of which is kinda sorta kept secret.

One point that came up was that very commonly ejected brass from a shooting would carry beautiful finger prints from whoever loaded the magazine prior to that discharge.

So then, just sayin', you guys that carry an autoloader sidearm for protection against bandits should wear gloves any time ammunition is handled.

The guy who smoked the goblin in the coffee shop last week, returned the victims money and goods and then calmly walked out probably left a great calling card for the law who apparently are not too happy with vigilantes shooting criminals in their town.

Revolvers need not be concerned with this detail.

One more reason to carry a sixgun.

Prints of value on fired casings...

I've seen lots of them come back negative for latent prints. Guns, particularly those stolen from vehicles, are often already loaded when stolen.
