a 44 cylinder that could be rechambered to 45 ACP for the Ruger Frankenpistol project. Do any of y'all have an old cylinder squirreled away you'd let go for a reasonable price?

Sorry I didn't find you a pawl in time. Was hoping to get you a free one.
What about a .357 cylinder? Seems to me it could be reamed to tight .45. I MIGHT still have one of those lying about.
Don't know what it'd take to ream a 357...
I know the 'smiths could do it fine, even line bore it - but that's more $$$ than is in the kitty for the project. I'm hoping to find either an ACP cylinder or a 44 cheap enough that I could then hand ream it myself. I'm not sure yet, but it seems that a Manson reamer should feed into a 44 cylinder with little problem. One would have to hog out more on the 357 before proceeding with the 45 ACP reamer, I THINK.

Gotcha. I didn't know if you had someone doing it for you. I would think machine work would be needed for the .357.

And the .357 cylinder is usually a bit shorter; I forget the exact amount. Matters if you plan on using two cylinders in the gun.
Thanks, Mark. I'd forgotten that tidbit. (nt)
