A question for JT

As he pointed out it has been rather quiet around here, so I have a question for him.
You shoot really great groups when testing handguns, and I'm very impressed. What type of rest do you use? Any recommendations for a good pistol rest?
Thanks!!!!!!

My friend Denis made a pair of relatively identical pistol rests, one of steel and one of aluminum. Both of them consist of a solid platform for my hands and an adjustable padded V-fork arresting the barrel. Three legs are adjustable and I mostly use the one with the aluminum platform the steel version is so heavy.

I don't know how to post a picture but I can email one someone who does if I have an address.
Send it my way, I'll be glad to put it up.

I've seen the plastic MTM models that are cheap and have a similar concept but are much harder to adjust. I couldn't remember the name so I did a quick search for "pistol rest" and found what looked like a few different products that were better made metal with easier adjustments.
Years ago I was pondering what would make a good rest and I was thinking something that supports the gun and bottom of your hands, but also something to set your forearms on closer to your elbows. When I put the wrest on a bench I end up bending over to get lower and that puts my face too close to the rear sight. So I was thinking the ideal rest would have your torso upright meaning the various support points would be higher than if they were setting on an ordinary bench.

Sigh……

Last night I had the pleasure of writing a review on a Caldwell Chronograph. And telling the folks who were complaining because their iPhone didn't have the technology to connect to the chronograph that they should get an iChronograph.
I need to set myself an iReminder to make sure and use the full URL of pics I post instead of just using the abbreviated (why is that such a long word?) form that the system uses.
There it is!

Thank you!
It is strange that this wasn’t an issue once upon a time, but that is beyond my ken…..
