taking our time on the way home from the Shootist's Holiday
Came over Wolf Creek Pass yesterday: fantastic! Very frustrating and sad to see all the forests full of overgrowth and beetle killed trees and watching the huge inferno north of us...all this death and destruction courtesy of the SIERRA CLUB and the spotted owl...
In Cortez yesterday, I found a LIB SS. 5.5" Virginian .22LR/mag... never seen one in person: very well made, affordable, plastic was flashed and a deal made...FFL will be faxed later today (Should have had a couple WITH ME!) Also spotted a Winchester 94 in .22 MAGNUM. In great shape lighter wood than most I have seen... 559.00 I may stop by on the way out... Have not seen a 94 in .22mag since 2004...
I ate dinner with Mic McPherson his family and Jim Wilkerson last night. Dropped off a Ferminated Marlin Mountie with Mic for some much needed work. This has been a most pleasant trip. Visited with so many friends, old & new, shot some guns (bringing fewer each year) Swapped and sold guns, visited Kit Carson's home...
headed to Mexican hat & Monument Valley and then home for dinner with friends and family. I really want to host a sixgunner gathering, in January, in Prescott, as soon as the big new public range is ready. 50-60 degree daytime temps cheap winter hotel rates etc.
Sounds like a fun trip after the Holiday
Except for the fire and forest damage.
I'll be the first to RSVP for your January shoot, once you announce it.
Me too............
Will have sold all my guns by then...maybe someone will loan me a .22 Mag pistol to shoot.....

Rob,
I am so happy to have finally met you in person. I pray you and Jan have safe travels home. You said God has blessed you, I think it is because you are shining example of what a Christian Man should be.

It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife, Rob.
Next time, dinner at the Conoco will definately be on my priority list! My treat.
Todd
Sounds like a great way to finish up a great week, Rob...
It was great to see you and Jan again. Holly and I enjoyed your company. Next year, we'll have to actually go shoot sporting clays instead of just planning on it :P
Talk to you soon, brother.
Matt/PA
Same here Matt, a great time!
I didn't realize how tired I have been until we could stop for a few days... I need to rest up BEFORE the next holiday. Didn't really get in the groove until Wednesday...
