It was bound to happen, got caught with my pants down. Been trying to shoot calibers that are more thrifty in regards to powder. I have discovered my 32-20 brass stash is woefully inadequate, and I have a bunch with beginning neck splits.

anneal?

I've read that if you anneal your current brass with a propane torch you can extend the life of what you have. You would have to search the net for instructions.

I learned a hard lesson. I was loading these on my Dillon 550, big mistake, I am using Lyman dies, with a Lee FCD. Well the powder die was working the brass way too much. So now I am using the Lyman M die that came in the set, and it does a much better job without overworking the brass. The brass that split were all RP nickle plated. I need to find someone to solder a new front sight on this butchered Buckeye Special. Currently I am shooting powder coated RCBS SWC at 102 gr, over 4.4 gr of Power Pistol, shoots about a 8"-9" high at 25. Still such a fun cartridge as I have gained years of "wisdom".

You might give Fermin Garza a holler about your front sight. He's producing some very good options and can help you with the height that you need.

I'm not sure if you can anneal nickle plated brass the same way and I've heard that it is more prone to split.

I’ve reloaded plenty of .38 and .357 nickeled brass with no trouble, even having some 38 brass that is mostly brass as it’s been reloaded so many times that the nickel has mostly worn off. But, I still remember a 100 piece bag of Remington nickel brass I bought brand new. I had I bet 1/4 to 1/3 of them split the first firing. And about the same amount the second firing or while resizing. Not case mouths either, splits from mouth about 90% of the way to the extractor groove. I’m prettty sure I pitched the rest just to me safe, and that was back when I was young and really broke, so that meant something! I’ve been leery of nickeled brass since then!

Since the shortages, I have had to make do with forming .32 w.c.f. from these.....

Requires quite a bit of trimming.

As an aside, I had a woman come in to the shop at the height of the gun run with a Nagant hoping we would be able to tell her what ammo it used and walked out VERY happy with a now usable revolver and a couple of boxes of fresh factory ammo. People are digging out EVERYTHING it preparation for the coming storm. They (and whatever group(s) they are in does not matter) BELIEVE it IS coming...

I remember reading articles about the same thing, using .32/20 brass to make ‘short’ nagant ammo.
To your other point, I have seen some odd stuff listed on the local classifieds pages. Now is not th beets time to get into another caliber...
