Marlin .375 Winchester
I picked up one of these about two months ago in very good shape and at an attractive price. I already had dies and brass for a TC pistol barrel in this caliber. I have been shooting 200, 220, and 250 jacketed bullets as well as some cast bullets. I am liking this rifle and plan on killing some deer with it this year. I probably didn't need this caliber as I already have a .35 Remington, but I am happy with it and enjoy being able to shoot the heavier bullets when needed.
Love the looks of that cartridge......nt

The local Cabela’s had a Ruger No 1 (or maybe a 3) the last couple times I’ve been there. Like you, don’t really need it, but it has been tempting! Hope you enjoy yours.
The No. 3 was factory offered in .375 (and I want one).
I can't recall a No. 1 in that cartridge from the factory.

I will remember that when I am packing for the next CSA.

I love the .38-55, I think you'll be very pleased.

HAHA!! Fanning the fire, are we?
OK, I'll bring the closest thing I have to a .38-55 along then.
Absolutely! I need to thin the herd.
There is a Winchester 94 30-30 re-barreled to 38-55 keeping it company.
.38-55 vs. .375
Years ago I did a little research trying to compare the 2. I never found an answer to the question of whether the difference in power was really needed. Of course the answer would be that some people always need more power. Also it seems that bore diameters can vary in .38-55 while they might be more standardized in .375.
The wide variation in bore diameters puts me off a bit.
I'd figure things out and shoot it but knowing what was behind "Door No. 2" could get interesting.
My "38-55" is in reality a 9.3x57R. Cases can be made from the longer version of the 38-55 (2.125"?) but the rims usually need to be thinned. I have some more work to do before that one is ready for prime time.
.38-55.......
Been thinking about getting another 38-55, always liked it and REALLY am missing my Marlin Cowboy 38-55, Buds Gun Shop has a Winchester Deluxe 38-55 that is calling me.

41 Mags rule, Baers rock!
.38-55.......
I always thought the Winchester Crazy Horse was interesting, and the Legendary Frontiersman, but a Marlin Cowboy is good in any caliber.
If you scratch that itch...
I'll even give you back the brass I got from you!
