still here, still puttering and finding.....
this is one that I really like, very smooth action, slender but still a large rifle
the rifle is my favorite caliber - 45/70
the revolver also a favorite caliber - 45 colt
First glance...
(I've not yet had my coffee) revealed a Stevens Favorite with a tubular magazine. Very interesting rifle, never seen one in person.
hint : not a stevens and it is a model 1886 [ nm ]

Oh, that was understood...
just my first impression on opening the post. It's also not a falling/rolling block (or whatever the Stevens Favorite is). I really should have my coffee before logging in.
having my second cup now
having my second cup now
just beautifull
Is that a Bullard?
Don’t know that I’ve ever seen one in person.
Otony
we have a winner !! bullard, large frame, ,model of 1886
pretty rare gun. i have bid on them for years, and finally got this one a few years back. very smooth action...some say the smoothest of all lever actions.
Is that the version with rack and pinion for the lever?
Those are truly the Rolls Royce of lever guns!
Otony
yes, rack and pinion. just glides easily

You have the NEATEST stuff! You really should publish a book
about your collection. I'm sure there's a story behind every object. Thank you for sharing with us!

thanks Hobie ! i am trying to write some of it down
for the kids , my oldest son and my daughter really are interested and like the guns and already have a lot of them that i have provided and taught them about
i will keep pulling things out and sharing pictures etc
I would buy such a book. I don't know about most
people, I am NOT "most people", but I LOVE the history behind the things. The 5 "W"s and how of the things fascinates me.
