My first 44
Smith 69 5 shot 44 magnum. Looking forward to playing with it. Had to have a Simply Rugged holster to go with it.
M69 is lots of fun
and comfortable to shoot despite its size and weight.
That holster will work well for it.
But why so long for a .44?
I think .44M is one of the best calibers for revolvers these days. There is a very wide range of excellent models available in that caliber, a wide range of factory ammo for about any use, and it is very versatile if you reload.

Another caliber to feed.
Lookin' good Tom.

If I were to ever buy a Smith made after the mid-90s
that is the one I would buy.
45 Colt is certainly a good choice
Of course the only thing better than a good .44mag is a good .45Colt. Unfortunately the selection is not as good in guns that can take full advantage of the 45Colt's capability. The availability in factory ammo is not as good but that doesn't matter to people who handload.
Most of us don't shy away from picking up new calibers, I always have future possibilities in mind.

I'm in the same boat. Pretty darn comfortable also.
I do save any .44 brass and swap for any .45 that comes my way.
