Smith Model 69 44 Magnum

Wondering if anyone out there has one of the 5 shot 44 magnum Smiths and what they think of it. I was wanting something smaller than an N Frame, doubt I would shoot much full power loads. Don’t own a 44 magnum, I like the 45 Colt round a lot but aren’t much in the way of DA revolvers in 45 Colt these days.

Only wheelguns currently available in 45 Colt is the Charter Arms Bulldog.
I was surprised at the trigger on it.

Time. They do make a 44 magnum but I don’t like porting anyway.

You might look for a Ruber Redhawk

I've got one in 7.5" that shoots great. They did make them in shorter barrels.

I remember a limited edition 686 with 5" no-underlug barrel. I thought it would be great to find one of those barrels as a spare part, rebore it to .44 and put it on a 696. Well it would cost some money and I didn't know if those barrels were remotely available. Now S&W has built almost this same thing, in 4".
