Ruger #3 in .375
I swung by our local baby Cabala’s yesterday and in their gun library they had a Ruger No 3 in .375. I honestly didn’t know they chambered #3’s in that caliber. I’m pretty sure I’ve only seen them in .45-70 and .22 Hornet. It had a couple of scrapes in the wood on the right side by the action and was missing the rear sight. Asking price was $650, which didn’t seem too bad for a Ruger single shot, especially at a Cabela’s! I’m trying to figure out what use I would have for it that would justify it, as well as ammo, brass, dies, bullet mold etc etc...
Ruger #3 in .22 Hornet, 30-40 Krag, and .45-70, ONLY. nt

Incorrect. They made some in 375 Win. as well. nt
.
Thank you for correction. Would think uncommon. nt

self-correcting, also aparently .44 Mag. Need to talk to
Dave Cambell, and tell him he told me wrong.
I didn't know about the 44. Or if I did, I forgot. nm
.
I used to have one in .375 Win....
......had it rebarreled to .30-30, got a lot more use out of it.
It was too light as a .375, and my buddy’s #3 in .45-70 was a psychoanalysts dream. You have to be crazy in the head to fire it.
Otony
The 44 was the least common. Nt

I like my 45-70 but I avoid Marlin and Ruger level loads in

Ruger #3 in .375
I have 2 in 22 hornet but would trade one for a 44 mag suppressed it would make the perfect NJ gun for the poaching season.:)
Cool.
Not a bad price at all....especially with the 'Cabelas factor' thrown in. Dad has a couple as well as Bro' Dan. I have only a .30-40 in the No. 3. I would be seriously looking at how to pay for that'un.
Very good deal
The .375s are not at all common.
Ran a buuuunnnch of Barnes XBTs through Jimmy's
One long ago CSA. Brisk, but not as bad as that short stocked 7lb M95 steyr I converted to 45-70. Once you get 560s past 1600fps, it doesnt take very long to get a lasting dose.
I think I bought that #3 from Jimmy later.
Ruger #3 in .375
Have a #3 in .22 Hornet, and one in .375 Winchester. I picked up a #1 stock for cheap because he did not know what it fit. Makes the .375 a real easy shooter. It will do a feral pig 'Bad'. I seem to remember the .44's were a CHP special run or something like that.
