Always carry a little S.S. Bearcat I purchased from tshirhart years ago when I am working outside. I was clearing the path around the pond of Muscadines and privets when a copperhead slithered into the water right in front of me. One shot and he went limp and slowly sank. First one shot kill of the season for the little Cat.

years ago when walking a shallow feeder stream I walked up on one. I hit it in the head just left of the right eye maybe 1/16" off a center head shot. it stood straight up about 14" out of the water and came straight for me.

Good job.......nt

The only copperhead I have ever killed was with a 22. - A 22 inch lawn mower. Pushed it into some high grass and pieces of copperhead came out. That was up around Center Hill Lake. I live in ideal copperhead habitat, but have never seen one around here.
