FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin signed a bill to change gun laws in the Commonwealth.

Bevin signed the NRA-backed measure, Senate Bill 150, into law Monday. It allows anyone 21 and over to carry a concealed weapon without a permit in the state of Kentucky.

Supporters said the bill reinforces Kentuckians’ constitutional rights to bear arms. Critics have voiced concerns about safety and lack of training.

The law goes into effect in July.

People can still get a concealed carry permit after July, but it will no longer be mandatory. Kentuckians who travel to other states and wish to conceal carry may opt to keep their permit.

The NRA said Kentucky is the 16th state to allow for permitless conceal carry.

History repeats... as more and more states passed Shall Issue CWP laws, "Blood in the Streetz" was the mantra then...In fact I am sure somewhere in England's Parliament the term "Blood in the Streetz" was used in reference to those Colonials and THEIR second Amendment Rights...

"Blood in the streetz" is present primarily in locations that prohibit or strictly limit the right to carry a weapon.

prior Gov shot down the law, thinking her signing allowing unloaded rifles/shotguns and cased/unloaded handguns in passenger compartment to be adequate changes.

Her opponent campaigned heavily on her not signing the Constitutional carry as passed by state senate. He won, and among first acts was to sign on the legislation swiftly pushed again thru senate.
