Which style of 1911 grips do you like/prefer, A, B or C????

Personally I never cared for the Colt main spring housing pin cut out type but they are traditional. Much more prefer the magwell flat bottom type like the ones Les Baer uses, they are also a little wider to cover more of the grip frame.

What about the raised ear on the left panel that bears against the plunger tube, like it or don't care???? Lot of new grips are being made with this feature omitted.

Thoughts on these or other option/styles?????

Over the past couple of months I have been designing jigs, buying materials, including some really nice Desert Ironwood, doing some layout/design work. Next step is to build the jigs and templates, then start making grip panels.

Call me a traditionalist but unless you have a magwell, the flat bottom grips just look odd to my eye!

Must have the Plunger Tube cut, too short and just WRONG

without... Like a cheapened version. Beveled bottom and the cut or not that is the least of these three areas. I like the wood in the B grips.

Being an old curmudgeon, I prefer A. I've found the bevel more comfortable when carried high and tight against my well-padded rib cage. The extension at the top of the left panel is to support the plunger tube against recoil. Might not be necessary IF the plunger tube is securely attached, but it don't do no harm and definitely looks better.

Some nice wood there, Gunner.

But Catoosa makes a very good point about the bevel.

They all have their place in the wonderful world of the 1911.
