Knife Shop stuff......
Sorry I haven't posted much knife stuff lately, so little time in the past couple of months to work on knives, but here is a few I have completed recently....
One with Ivory Micarta and one with Desert Ironwood...
Ivory micarta doesn't really like sun light for picture taking : (
MiniMachette.....
nick named it the finger remover, crazy sharp for such a big blade.
Last.....I had a screwed up blank and so I took the opportunity to test my refined heat treatment on the blank.....
This is after 10 hard whacks with a 2 lbs sledge hammer with the blank locked in a bench vise. Bench weighs around 800+ pounds and it was rockin' with each hammer blow and all I got was a bend with no cracking, chipping or splits. I believe I have my process dialed in which makes all the extra effort and time it now takes to do everything involved in the hardening of the blank worth it. And just for the person who will ask, the vise jaws were clamped just above were my index finger is on the blank.
