Green Hunter knife......
Finished up a new knife today......Styled this one after the knives I saw as a kid in the old westerns, old school look with a slight modern touch, grabbed a piece of .125" stock and got to grinding and this is what I ended up with.
1095 HC steel, triple thermal cycled and tempered, 12.25" long with a 7.25" blade, double dyed Maple Burl scales with black plastic pins, to keep the weight down and blend in with the scales. The final shape is OK, a little off from what I had originally planned for the handle size, one of these days I've got to figure in metal removal on scale fitting, handles tend to be a bit smaller than I intended do to how I grind to fit the scales. But it feels good in the hand, super sharp with a little flex in the blade. Wouldn't work for a rough use camp knife but you have a lot of game to cut up this would be the ticket.
Thanks for looking,
Gunner
