Did you all make it home ok? Tell your folks thanks for dinner for me. Next one is on me! Also, wife is home and everything went well, just in case you all were wondering.
I'm not Brian A...

but was thinking of you last night. Did you hear about the bridge that went down here a few days ago? Never had been finished, much less inaugurated. We saw it back in January while traveling past on our way to the plains, had no idea it'd become so famous so fast.
Yes Paul, I'm aware of it...

Cable-stayed bridge, it appears the tower failed, although that's just conjecture on my part given the limited information I was provided. Very tragic, I believe 10 people lost their lives.
That bridge is part of a very ambitious highway project on behalf of the Columbian government. It would be very interesting to me to see it, should it ever be completed.

Yep, tower failure leading to several deaths. Some are claiming faulty design, some are claiming faulty execution of the design. And of course the specter of corruption in skimming materials or sourcing improper materials to "save money" (to be pocketed by the usual suspects) is hovering in the background.
You'd get a kick out of seeing the bridges along that road. It's come a long way from the dirt track it was a few decades ago.

We made it back in one piece, even had pretty decent weather for travel, which was a real nice switch from the normal snow and ice.
It was wonderful, as always, to share a meal with you, looking forward to doing it again in the future.
Excellent news your bride is home and doing well! Hopefully Elizabeth was able to come back with her for a visit home.
